Code of Conduct

AbilityNet events are designed to be as inclusive as possible. We work hard to ensure that the event is welcoming to anyone that wishes to attend. This includes:

  • Creating a friendly and welcoming environment.
  • Having and upholding a Code of Conduct (this document).
  • Aiming for a balance of speakers in terms of age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation and socio-economic status.
  • Offering support workers/personal assistants to attend free of charge.
  • Ensuring venue and/or virtual platform accessibility information is available to all speakers and delegates.
  • Providing live captions for all sessions and breakouts where possible.
  • Providing BSL interpretation where possible.
  • Welcoming guide dogs and assistance animals.
  • Requesting advance information about specific accessibility and dietary requirements (in-person events) and making reasonable adjustments where feasible.
  • Offering discounted tickets for non-profit organisations.

TechShare Pro Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are bound by the following Code of Conduct. Event organisers will enforce this Code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everybody.

Our conference provides an inclusive and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices.

We encourage healthy debate in our sessions, but we do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Attendees are encouraged to use social media to promote content in which they are interested; the use of social media to harass or intimidate other attendees for their views would be in breach of the Code of Conduct.

Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any in-person or online conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media.

Conference participants violating these rules may be excluded from the conference proceedings without a refund at the sole discretion of the conference organisers.
